The String Music Faculty at Vienna University will host a 5-day Mastercourse in “Classical Improvisation for Classical Musicians”. Professor Guenther will be demonstrating and teaching classes for students in his breakthrough method Expressive Improvisation© as part of his Integrated Contemporary Performance© program.
A highly practical course for professional classical players, teachers and advanced students. You will learn a simple, systematic approach which allows you to improvise freely, making your own imaginative and expressive music. Using all the classical playing skills which you already have, you will learn just a few simple extra insights that allow all that experience to be available for you to use in improvisation, and which you can apply in your music making immediately. For professionals this allows mature, coherent improvised music at a concert level as a legitimate part of your repertoire. Each participant develops a strong relationship with the entire spectrum of tonality and masters a deeply practical understanding of all the modes and scales from an emotional as well as from a musical perspective. It also establishes the way to each participant’s own individual sound and style.

The 2nd International Mastercourse for Improvisation is a 10-day mastercourse for classical musicians and takes place in August 2010 in St Paul, Austria. Course includes daily classes in Professor Guenther’s breakthrough approaches including Expressive Improvisation, Healing Stage-Fright, Extended Techniques, and Going Electric For Stringed Instruments.
The course attracts advanced students and professional chamber musicians and soloists from all over Europe.
